Welcome to The Rheumatology Initiative (tRi) Ghana - a lifeline of hope, knowledge, and advocacy for those navigating the challenges of Autoimmune Rheumatic conditions in Ghana and across Africa.
tRi Ghana was founded in 2012.
We are a non-profit organization dedicated to providing education, advocacy and research into the autoimmune rheumatic conditions in Ghana and Africa.
We ultimately aim to help find the causes and cure for autoimmune rheumatic conditions and provide support, services and hope to persons affected with these conditions, with a special focus on young and adolescent persons and their loved ones.
tRi seeks to increase awareness and provide information, tips, and the latest advances in caring for people with autoimmune rheumatic diseases and these conditions.
As part of our strategies to achieve our aims, we have set up a support group, Rheusolute, for young and adolescent people with autoimmune conditions. This group currently has over 300 members with conditions such as Rheumatoid arthritis and Lupus and doubles as a source of information and healing interaction outside the consulting room.
We have subgroups for people living with Lupus (Global Lupus Outstanding Warriors—G.L.O.W), people living with Rheumatoid Arthritis (Global Rheumatoid Arthritis Support and Platforms—G.R.A.S.P), and people living with more than one autoimmune condition (Global Empowered Myositis and MCTD Survivors—G.E.M.M.S), which allows us to reach members more closely and address condition-specific needs as well as adult members.

Our Commitment
At tRi Ghana, we believe that too few people understand the true impact of autoimmune rheumatic conditions. These are not just medical conditions - they are life-altering challenges that can affect every aspect of a person’s life. We are here to change that narrative.
Our work is rooted in the belief that by spreading awareness, advocating for affordable care, and funding ground-breaking research, we can lead the fight for a better life for those affected.
Our mission is simple yet profound: to empower individuals living with Autoimmune Rheumatic Conditions, particularly young and adolescent individuals, to lead fulfilling lives.
We seek to increase awareness, share crucial information, and advance research that will one day unlock the mysteries of these diseases.
Through our combined efforts in education, support, and advocacy, we are paving the way for a future where these conditions no longer hold power over those they affect.
